Noah Kahan's season isn't ending anytime soon in the UK.
Based on sales and streaming data released by the Official Charts Company, Kahan's “Stick Season” (via Republic Records) is on track for a fifth week in a row at No. 1.
If the Vermont singer-songwriter's standout single stays at the top for another week, “Stick Season” will become the first track to dominate the UK chart for five consecutive weeks since Doja Cat's “Paint The Town Red,” according to the OCC. .
Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Murder on the Dancefloor' (Polydor) continues to stir, thanks to exposure to new audiences in dark drama Saltburn. It is expected to remain at No. 2, its highest position since its 2001 release.
Teddy Swims continues to rock with “Lose Control” (Atlantic), which is set for the best chart position of his career. “Lose Control” rises 6-3 in the chart update, ahead of Jack Harlow's “Lovin On Me” (5-4 via Atlantic) and Ariana Grande's “Yes, And” (down 4-5 via Republic Records).
British rapper Skepta should score a chart-topping debut with “Newgas Me Up (Diligent)” (via Big Smoke/Epic). It's new at No.29 on the blast charts and is on track to become the 22nd UK Top 40 star to win the Mercury Prize.
Finally, Justin Timberlake's return as a solo recording artist could secure his 27th top 40 UK singles appearance. Timberlake's “Selfish” (RCA) debuts at No. 35 on the midweek chart and is the first track off his sixth solo album, titled Everything I thought it was. EITIW is expected to be released on March 15.
