Montreal act Kevin Barnes has announced a new album, Lady on the Cusp, and shared his first single, “Yung Hearts Bleed Free,” via a music video. Montreal has also announced some new tour dates. Lady on the Cusp will be released on May 17 via Polyvinyl. Check out the video below, along with the album artwork and tracklist, followed by the tour dates.

For “Yung Hearts Bleed Free,” Barnes said in a press release: “Influenced by the Leos Carax movie Boy meets girl, Bootsy's Rubber Band and my recent purchase Yamaha TG33 and Kawai K1M. I wanted to make a sexy and sexy song of a song that just flowed in and felt loose and playful and free.”
Madeline Babuka Black directed the music video for the song and added: “There's a certain '60s/experimental spirit to Barnes' songwriting that I love, and using analog paper-cut and cartoon-directed techniques, I pay homage to this. The film's cut-scene animation and color palette were deeply inspired by Larry Jordan's experimental animation, most notably from the 1968 film Virgin Mary of Sphere.”
