Speaking about Stefani's artistic evolution, he continued: “To me, she is a prime example of an artist who defies stereotypes and preconceived boundaries and just does things she thinks are cool… If that's not a real artist, I do not know what it is”. .”
“She sings unapologetically about things ranging from wanting to make out with someone to fantasizing about having a husband and children,” Rodrigo added. “There's a lot of heart in every word she says, and every song seems straight out of the diary of the coolest girl you know.”
In the past, Rodrigo has also pointed to Jack White, St. Vincent and Kathleen Hanna as mentors in his career. He also introduced Sheryl Crow on her tour stop in Nashville and described Rage Against the Machine as his favorite band at the moment.
