This is a brand new collaborative mixtape from Key Largo, Florida emcee and Chapter 17 Records signee Darby O'Trill along with C17 founder/CEO and Psychopathic Records recording artist Ouija Macc. Both are already established in the underground bad scene at this point whether it's Ouija becoming the record label running down the streets biggest solo act before starting his own Psychopathic subsidiary or even Darby releasing the debuts in Chapter 17 Creek gained widespread recognition last summer by joining his Lyrikal Snuff Productionz offering Gorge celebrating its 2 year anniversary at the end of this month as his best completed work. Coronella with Trizz last fall became my favorite collaborative effort that Ouija has ever surpassed We Never Forgot with Baby E right when C17 was founded, but I had a feeling Anemia could overcome both.
“Kennel Cough” is a dark trap opener that calls out all the juffs they claim to have been around when they've never seen them before, while “Wafflehouse Warlock” works on that vocal sample mixed with hi-hats that speak for dead. their whole life. “Darkmoon Talisman” brings a morbid trap vibe to the table, thanks to Devereaux, the demons in their heads can play hockey with their minds just before “Nugget Bowling” shoots for an eerie instrumental approach, going straight to the dome.
Meanwhile, on “Juggalunatic,” we have Ouija & Darby playing trap metal without leading into “Kidney Stones'” discussions of being able to promise something you don't really want over a bass-heavy trap beat with some bells. The duke of bad Violent J of the Insane Clown Posse himself appears as AnemiaThe single feature “The Trees Have Eyes” warns to stay out of the woods over a terrible Shaggytheairhead instrumental, but then “Sage Allergy” continues with a fun rant about smoking until a mom can't see.
“Anemoians” takes a turn treading slower and murkier waters knowing that both of them weren't alone here, while “Need 2 Kill Someone” delves deeper into the industrial trap sound talking straight up murder. “Corpse01dotMDL” sounds like a hyphy/trap fusion track to me talking about the shit they do and have a job to do hammering a hammer into your skull repeatedly until it breaks while 2nd single “Graveyard Shift” confesses to digging these graves here and days they hit a demonic trap.
To kick off the final leg of the album, “Jokaroholio” darkly tells you that the joke's on you at the end, while lead single “Cobratoxin” is this freaking trap that refuses to trust anyone who isn't a 17-inch in this bitch . . “Worry Warts” jumps over a sample trap so he doesn't worry about the next guy, while “Death of a Summer” admits to feeling tired and desperate taking the cloudier route once again. “Crossing Over” on the other hand ends Anemia with 1 last metal trap so they can't go home since they don't have any.
Coronella was released only 7 months ago and is completely different from any other collaborative project that Ouija & Anemia here he has already arrived if he has not crossed the threshold Coronella had set. And when you consider that they are the only 2 current artists in C17 as I write this, it is an example of the power of the Psychopathic subsidiary. The chemistry between the two is incredibly natural as they skip over the predominantly trap-oriented production with added elements of trap metal and cloud rap.
