Ozzy Osbourne is mourning the loss of his beloved dog Rocky. The metal icon shared the sad news on his social media channels on Thursday (August 22nd), revealing that Rocky had passed away two days earlier.
“Two days ago I lost my good friend Rocky who has been at my side for 15 years,” wrote Ozzy. “I’ll see you on the other side my friend. I love you always.”
Among the many pets in the Osbourne household, Ozzy had referred to Rocky as his “number one fan,” once sharing a video of the Pomeranian headbanging to “Crazy Train.”
In the comments on Ozzy’s Facebook post announcing Rocky’s passing, the official Black Sabbath account shared a photo of Ozzy and Rocky with guitarist Tony Iommi, writing, “Rest in Peace Rocky.”
Ozzy himself has been sidelined from touring as he deals with various health issues and an ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease. However, he recently stated that he will be in attendance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on October 19th in Cleveland.
“It’s still hard to believe I’m about to be a two-time inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” Ozzy said in a recent statement. “I’m really looking forward to attending the induction ceremony in Cleveland this October. More importantly, I am so blessed to have had such an incredible career with amazing fans who have stuck by me through thick and thin over the years.”
