Pepe Aguilar rockets to No. 1 Bulletin boardMexico Regional Airplay Chart (dated September 14) with “Mira Quién Lo Dice” as the song soars 18-1. This is the biggest jump to the top in 2024, winning Greatest Gainer awards, given weekly to the song with the biggest gain in the audience.
“Mira Quién Lo Dice” recorded 5.8 million audience impressions, up 104%, on US-monitored regional Mexican stations in the Aug. 30-Sept. 5 week follow-up, according to Luminate. This audience increase comes from Univision stations WOJO-FM (Chicago), KSCA-FM (Los Angeles) and KLNO-FM (Dallas) during the tracking period.
The new leader gives Aguilar his third Regional Mexican Airplay champion spanning more than 26 years of career entries, since the No. 2 hit “Por Mujeres Como Tú” gave him his first top 10 in 1998.
Before “Mira Quién Lo Dice,” two other songs landed at the top. Earlier, a collaboration with his son Leonardo Aguilar on “Bandido de Amores” gave the San Antonio, Texas-born singer-songwriter his second No. 1 (chart dated July 6). And in 2021, “Tus Desprecios” with El Fantasma, secured Aguilar his first skipper.
Among Aguilar's three champions, “Mira Quién” endured the longest wait for the top spot, a 12-week run, four weeks longer than his previous slowest, “Bandido,” which closed out an eight-week run at No. 1 in July.
As “Mira Quién” rallies to the summit for Regional Mexican Airplay from No. 18, it marks the biggest jump to No. 1 in 2024 and the second biggest this decade, trailing Maná and Eden Muñoz's 18-rank at No. 1 last November.
Overall, “Mira Quién” is the fourth of 407 Regional Mexican Airplay chart toppers released in 1994 to jump from No. 18 or lower directly to No. 1. Here's the recap:
