Instead of being at the end, Playboi Carti is giving a gift to all his fans for his 29th birthday. Carti released his first song to streaming services since 2020 with the blood-soaked “All Red” on Friday (September 13).
Karti surprised fans when rumors started circulating about a possible arrival of a single. Shortly after being posted on YouTube, “All Red” did hit DSPs.
“THIS 1 FOR YAL I CAN'T LIE”, Carty wrote on his Opium label Instagram page.
The Atlanta rapper reunites with frequent collaborator F1lthy, who provides the chaotic production. “Upside down crisscross tat” on my neck, shut 'em up, eh/ Bentley's parked outside, my vibe tryin' to go for a ride/ I put VETEMENTS right on her thighs, put the mask on 'cause I'm fried,” he raps.
Carti is no stranger to mixing up his vocals and he dropped his pitch once again here. Some have compared his flow on “All Red” to sounding similar to Future. “Playboi Carti was definitely inspired by Future on 'ALL RED' crazy how much influence Future has on all these rappers.” a fan he wrote
Another said: “Besides all the jokes that the new Carti looks like the future.”
There are finally some signs that Playboi Carti is long overdue I am Music album is on the horizon. He released various vinyl covers for the project his Instagram and directed fans to his website.
Carti's online store is selling digital albums along with merchandise bundles, but there's no release date and it's promised to arrive before October 2025.
PBC t-shirt packs are available for $50 while pre-orders for the I am Music Hat and hoodie packs sell for $65 and $100 plus fees, respectively.
“All Red” is Carti's first streaming release of 2020 Whole Lotta Red. Although he has released a number of singles on his YouTube page in the last year, including “Backr00ms” with Travis Scott, “2024”, “Evil J0rdan”, “Ketamine”, “H00dbyair” and “Different Day”.
Playboi Carti was honored at Bulletin board2024 R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event in New York last week with the artist of the year award.
He made a rare public appearance to accept the award. “I want to thank my mom, I want to thank God,” he said he began his speech. “Thank you Bulletin board — this is my first award. Very happy to be here. RIP Rich Homie Quan. ATL in the building. Shout out to all of New York. I love you all. Thank you.”
