Porter Robinson's musical evolution is taking center stage on his first world tour, which he says mirrors the career-long nature of Taylor Swift's historic “Eras Tour.”
The tour takes its name from its impressive SMILE! 😀 album, which was released in late July. Robinson revealed the tour’s tracklist today via Apple Music, with whom he spoke about his approach.
“What would be the most fun thing to do on stage?” he said. “What if I was there right now as a Porter fan? What would be the ultimate experience?”
Robinson then said she is planning “kind of an Eras Tour,” developing a career retrospective in the vein of Swift's record-breaking career. “Eras” in late 2023 became the The highest grossing tour of all time after surpassing $1 billion in revenue.

The influential producer and singer-songwriter will perform most of SMILE! 😀 before taking fans on a nostalgic journey through the beloved 2014 debut album, Worldsand the brilliant follow-up of 2021, NourishThe performances will close with a deeply personal interpretation. SMILE! 😀 cut “Russian Roulette,” which Robinson called his favorite song on the record.
“It's a three-minute emoacoustic buildup, very far from the microphone, leading into a crazy trance drop at the end,” he explained. “I feel like ending the show with that is going to be an absolute cathartic explosion.”
As Robinson prepares to take fans on her own musical odyssey, anticipation is growing for a show that could redefine indie-electronic music performances, much like Swift's tour has done for pop concerts.
“I think this would be a really good first Porter concert to go to, to be honest,” he added. “I think anyone who sees me for the first time, who is maybe only familiar with one of the albums, will come away from this show with three or four new favorites and be like, 'Oh my God. I have to listen to it again.'”
