Post Malone, Doja Cat, Rauw Alejandro and Jelly Roll will take the stage in New York's Central Park for Global Citizen festival 2024, which takes place on September 28.
Hugh Jackman will host the annual event on the Great Lawn, while Chris Martin and Dr. Jane Goodall of Coldplay will make special appearances. Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
As always, Global Citizen Fest is a free event and tickets can be secured through the Global Citizen app or website. This year's report will aim to spur action and encourage governments around the world to increase financial support for anti-poverty programs, protect and restore the Amazon rainforest, and improve equitable access to healthy food , stronger healthcare systems and education.
“It's been a few years since I was last on stage at the Global Citizen festival in Paris and I'm excited to join forces with Global Citizen once again in Central Park this September to drive as much action as possible to make the world a better place,” Doja Cat said in a statement. “We all have a role to play in helping to end extreme poverty and championing equality. I look forward to being a part of this great night of positive change.”
Meanwhile, Jackman said he was “thrilled” to be back as host, adding: “For over a decade, Global Citizen has been a lifesaver for nearly 1.3 billion people around the world and we will gather again on September 28 to help end extreme poverty, defend the planet and demand equality. I look forward to seeing you all on Central Park's Great Lawn to collectively call for change on behalf of the world's most vulnerable communities.”
Global Citizen announced they would be returning to the Great Lawn in April. The famous Central Park area suffered significant damage during last year's Global Citizen festival due to heavy rain, causing it to close about six weeks earlier than usual. said Simon Moss, co-founder of Global Citizen Rolling rock while the agency “always pays and will pay for any damage done to the park.”
Last year's Global Citizen festival featured performances from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jung Kook, Anitta, Conan Grey, D-Nice and Sofia Carson.
