prince of Persia is back and better than ever! Fans of the iconic franchise have been waiting YEARS for a new game and thought they'd be playing its remake Sands of Time until now, but with his arrival The lost crownmaybe Ubisoft should focus on building this world more.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown seemed to appear out of thin air, surprising many fans of the video game franchise, myself included.
We were all at a standstill after his announcement Sands of Time remake, which is currently available development hell after it was announced in early 2020. Two Ubisoft studios touched on the game before it landed firmly in the arms of Ubisoft Montreal and reached the “conceptual stage.”
Ubisoft decided to roll with it Last crown? honestly, it was the wisest decision they could have made.
Prince of Persia: The Last Crown will put players in the shoes of Sargon, a member of The Immortals, who are the best warriors of Persia.
After a short introduction that serves as a quick tutorial, the story wastes no time developing when the Prince of Persia is kidnapped and taken to Mount Qaf, a beautiful but dangerous labyrinth.
The rescue mission the Immortals confidently embark on to bring the prince back turns into a nightmare that transcends time. Now they are caught in what seems like an endless loop that Sargon must break to uncover a conspiracy that provides a story full of twists.
Oh, and there are plenty of traps and mythical beasts that will try to stop Sargon from achieving his goal.
A Metroidvania for everyone

This game isn't just for die-hard Metroidvania fans. It's for everyone…
Metroidvanias aren't everyone's jam. Many players won't find it fun to traverse large maps and revisit areas because they don't have the right skills to access certain areas or the fact that they have to memorize points.
Remember, there are plenty of platforming and challenging enemies throughout said map to worry about. You can easily have a horrible gaming experience if these things aren't presented well.
With Last Crown Prince of PersiaUbisoft Montreal found a way to not only deliver one of the best Metroidvania style games ever Super Metroid but also a way to not make it a scary experience, allowing more people to fall in love with this particular style of play.
Special features like being able to take snapshots that remain on your map of areas with treasure or items you can't get, or placement markers, help a lot and are a welcome addition.
Platforming in these game styles is expected. The lost crown puts a prince of Persia spin on what many will find familiar. As you progress and Sargon gains more abilities, traversing the traps becomes more complicated.

Dying multiple times can be frustrating for players who aren't used to this type of replay-rinsing gameplay. Fortunately, the developers added a feature that allows Sargon to skip puzzles he doesn't want to do, especially after mastering them the first time.
This game isn't just for die-hard Metroidvania fans. It's for everyone.
The story is fantastic

Sargon's story will pull you in, making you care about this character…
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown it nails all aspects of Metroidvania, but also gives us a compelling story full of Persian mythology that you'll be sure to look deep into, which is of the utmost importance when creating a good Metroidvania style game.
The constant twists and turns to determine why someone close to Sargon kidnapped the prince come to a remarkable conclusion.
Sargon's story will pull you in, making you care about this character who is all about loyalty to the crown, on a mission to save the prince, his immortal countrymen, and himself.
The acting also adds to this story as everyone tries to bring each of the characters from Sargon to help deliver a story that could be the beginning of a new chapter in prince of Persia history.
A Beautiful World

To another prince of Persia titles, you're usually confined to a castle. The decision to step outside of that comfort zone was a smart one.
During my roughly 25 hours of play (the game can be beaten in about 15 hours), I spent much of it simply admiring the beautiful world of Mount Qaf.
No biome is the same, offering different challenges, enemy types that this game doesn't fall short on, and challenging bosses that will have you yelling at the TV both in frustration when your ass is kicked the first few times and in celebration when you do. fatal blow.

From the beautiful Upper City and the majestic Sacred Archives, where you meet the jailer, who is blind but has super hearing and will hunt you down if he hears you into the terrifying depths so dark you need a light guide to navigate the creepy areas and see Enemies that pop up, Ubisoft Montpellier has gone to great lengths to ensure that no two areas feel the same.
I only wish the game had a proper photo mode to capture the breathtaking views I encountered during my gameplay.

Final verdict

After initially playing a preview of the game, I was high on this game. I can fully play it, my initial reactions are confirmed.
The last crown is it a masterpiece; I had a hard time finding anything wrong with this game. Combat is fast and fun to use thanks to Sargon's combo system and acquired abilities, allowing for sleek, fast-paced gameplay.
The excellent necklace mode allows Sargon to equip different combinations of talismans you find or buy that bless Sargon with buffs, new abilities and other enhancements to help you on your journey, while giving players the ability to build for multiple runs .
Each type of enemy and boss offers unique challenges as you must find ways to effectively take them down before they wipe you out of existence.
But do not worry. Several Wak Wak trees are placed throughout the map that restore your health, arrows, and potions, or disable your amulets and abilities, giving you comfort that restarting from a certain point isn't so bad.
While Ubisoft Montreal is hard at work on the Sands of Time remake, of Montpellier The lost crown it's not just a placeholder. it's the perfect linchpin for the franchise, setting it on a refreshing path to new greatness.
This is a perfect game, and I can't scream enough that you should absolutely play it when it arrives.
