Maybe we'll “get lucky” and see the release of a new Daft Punk album before our grandchildren are born.
In a recent interview with Southern Illinois University's Carbondale student-run media organization alternative news 26:46one of the percussionists who helped record Daft Punk's last album, Random access memories, revealed that the robots have a complete, unreleased album in their archives. The musician, known mononymously as Quinn, shared his personal experiences performing on tracks like “Give Life Back to Music,” “Instant Crush” and “Touch,” and revealed what it was like collaborating with the legendary electronic music duo.
About halfway through his interview, Quinn casually shared that he and guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. helped Daft Punk work on another album after they finished recording. Random ACmemories of the process in 2012. Due to the enigmatic nature and dissolution of Daft Punk, they have unsurprisingly not publicly acknowledged the existence of the unreleased album.
However, it's worth noting that Quinn revealed that the robots allowed him to talk about the album's existence to give fans a glimmer of hope that it will eventually see the light of day.
