Swifties, it's time to talk to you. After over 100 episodes and seven album reviews, Good for a weekend Hosts Kressie and MK are doing the unthinkable: They admit they're not interested in a Taylor Swift album (and they're not alone). In this episode, the two analyze the first album of The Department of Tortured Poets. Listen above or wherever you get your podcasts.
Just because Kressie and MK might not love each other The Department of Tortured Poets, however, it doesn't mean that they don't have many ideas about the album. In fact, they have so many thoughts (and there are so many songs in The anthology) that they needed to divide their review into two parts.
This week, the duo will play The Department of Tortured Poets proper, that is, everything up to the additional songs included in the expanded edition. They discuss everything that works and everything that doesn't. Spoiler alert: many things don't. According to Kressie and MK, there's no denying Swift's prowess as a songwriter—the powerful bridges, the catchy choruses, the impeccable production, the lyrics that are autobiographical yet relatable—but this collection of songs lacks many of those aspects.
