Rapper Rico Nasty and producer/DJ Boys Noize have made a habit of bending genres, stepping outside the lines, and adding a bit of an aggressive slant to whatever project they have coming up. So it's no surprise that they both absolutely love his idiosyncratic, wildly creative, one-of-a-kind artist, Arca. Listen to Rico Nasty and Boys Noize explain why they admire Arca so much in this episode of The spark parade above or wherever you get your podcasts.
Both Rico Nasty and Boys Noise immediately took to Arca's talent for genre-blending, his limitless imagination, and his prolific output. “It's one of my favorite things to see in music,” Rico Nasty explains of Arca's intense solo and production schedule. “It's just something that needs to be studied. The routine is crazy, really.”
“I'm going to come out and say she might be the best artist of our generation right now,” Boys Noize adds. “When you see her perform or listen to her music, people also feel so confident, [in] be different or not be afraid to be who you are. That is very powerful.”
