Sabrina Carpenter scores her second No. 1 Advertising sign'Espresso' Pop Airplay Chart Rises to No.1 in Survey.
The song, released on Island Records and promoted to radio by Republic, dominates the chart dated July 13 with a 3% increase in performances from June 28 to July 4. (The list ranks songs by weekly airplay on more than 150 top 40 mainstream radio stations tracked by Mediabase, with data provided to Advertising sign from Luminate.)
Carpenter first led Pop Airplay with “Feather” for a week in April — becoming the first artist with at least two No. 1s on the chart in 2024. Last year, one artist scored two new chart-toppers in the format: Taylor Swift , featuring 'Karma' and 'Cruel Summer'. (Carpenter opened on Swift's The Eras tour in South America in August-November 2023 and rejoined the tour this February-March for dates in Australia and Singapore.)
Additionally, Carpenter is the first Island-signed artist to garner two Pop Airplay No. 1 in the same year since 2005, when Mariah Carey reigned supreme with “We Belong Together” and “Shake It Off.”
As previously mentioned, 'Espresso' has topped both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US charts and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, Carpenter scores the Pop Airplay chart's Greatest Gainer for a second week as “Please Please Please” jumps 24-18 (up 72%) in its second week on the chart. The song (mostly edited for radio) became her first No. 1 on the Hot 100 dated June 29.
“Espresso” and “Please Please Please” showcase Carpenter's album Short n' Sweetdue on August 23rd. She is set to kick off her 29-year-old Short n' Sweet tour on September 23rd in Columbus, Ohio.
