Sabrina Carpenter threw her phone across the room when Taylor Swift asked her to join her tour.
The Nonsense singer has described being invited to Taylor's The Eras tour as one of her most important moments of 2023.
“There were a lot of emojis and exclamation points,” she told Grammy.com of the invitation. “That's how it actually happened, it didn't happen through managers or anything. When Taylor texted me and asked if I wanted to tour with her, I threw my phone across the room.”
He continued, “It's a really surreal thing. I played one of her songs when I was nine years old and certainly, throughout my life, she's been an artist and a songwriter and an entrepreneur that I've always admired. So to call her a friend and be a part of something like that iconic as this tour is, I still can't process it.”
Sabrina, 24, opened for Taylor during her shows in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil in August and November, and is set to support her in Australia and Singapore in February and March.
“I'm still on tour for next year and I've learned as much as I can along the way,” he added. “I really feel bad about how many shows I've been to because so many people want to see this show, so I feel lucky and privileged to have seen it as many times as I have!”
Other supporting acts for Taylor include Phoebe Bridgers, Paramore, Haim, Gracie Abrams and Gayle, among others.
