After seven years, Shakira released Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don't Cry Anymore)her first new album since her 2017 Grammy-winning set El Dorado.
Released across all digital streaming platforms on Friday (March 22), this new album is a catharsis for the Colombian hitmaker, who is vulnerable and raw on what could be described as her most personal LP to date. Coming off huge hits like her Bizarrap production session music and girly 'TQG' with Karol G, Shakira takes fans on a healing journey with songs like 'Última', 'Cómo Dónde y Cuándo' and 'La Fuerte' . another group with Bizarrap.
The set includes collaborations with other artists such as Rauw Alejandro (“Cohete”), Cardi B (“Puntería”) and Grupo Frontera (“(Entre Parentésis)”). Previously released songs that are part of the record are “Copa Vacía” with Manuel Turizo, “Monotónía” with Ozuna, “El Jefe” with Fuerza Regida and the sweet “Acróstico” with the sons of Milan and Sasha.
“Creating this body of work has been an alchemical process,” Shakira previously said in a statement. “When I was writing each song, I was rebuilding myself. As I sang them, my tears turned into diamonds and my vulnerability into strength.”
Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran follows El Doradowhich spent five weeks at No. 1 on Advertising signChart of Top Latin Albums. In total, the hitmaker has placed eight top 10 albums on the Top Latin Albums chart, six of those No. 1 hits, including Where are Los Ladrones? (1998), Fijación Oral: Vol. 1 (2005) and Sale El Sol (2010).
