Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are looking to make their presence felt in the spirits industry once again with the release of their Still GIN alcohol.
Inspired by 2001 press “Still DRE,” Still GIN was released nationwide at select retailers on Tuesday (October 15). The spirit boasts a “sophisticated botanical blend that is modern yet elegant, with notes of mandarin, jasmine and coriander for an unforgettable aromatic finish,” according to the press release.
“This is not a drink we just put our name on,” Dr. Dre said in a statement. “It's just like we did with Beats headphones. Everything is us from the beginning: the gin, the taste, the packaging. Everything had to be perfect. Snoop said it best: We're better together – it's always magical. It's amazing to know that you have something amazing that you believe will actually work. From the look to the taste, it's all there.”
The 750 mL Honeycomb Still GIN Bottle is available for purchase at TotalWine's website for $59.99.
“Every day in the studio when Dre and I were trying to make the best music, we were drinking gin and just having fun,” Snoop Dogg added. “We are part of the evolution of this gin – from creating the flavor, to the percentage of alcohol it contains – and it's so good! Dre is a perfectionist: He wants to make sure it's not just good, but large. Together, we won't do anything regularly.”
Snoop and Dre made their first foray into the liquor industry with Gin & Juice cocktails, which arrived in February.
“Still DRE” first entered the Billboard Hot 100 when it peaked at No. 91 in 1999 and then re-entered the Hot 100 to peak at No. 23 in 2022.
There is music by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, who join forces for their first full-length project since 1993 Doggystyle. The follow-up to Snoop's debut is aptly titled Missionary, and is expected to be released in November.
