Kelly Jones has today announced details of her new studio album 'Inevitable Incredible', released on Stylus Records via Ignition Records Ltd on May 3, 2024. The unveiling of the title track of the same name accompanies the news.
The beautifully sparse and emotional first track, 'Inevitable Incredible', is released today. The song marks a bold stylistic shift for Kelly Jones, long established as one of the UK's most prolific, successful and loved singer-songwriters. Setting the stage for the accompanying album, her voice is instantly recognizable. On this album, Kelly displays tenderness and vulnerability, highlighting a vocal breadth and depth that is sometimes overshadowed by her familiar Stereophonics rock anthems. Cinematic, widescreen, piano-led soundscapes are something new and bold for Jones. It's a song that shows a songwriter stepping out of his comfort zone and with a vulnerability not usually associated with a major artist after a quarter century of such a successful and historic career.

On 'Inevitable Incredible', Kelly writes primarily on the piano for the first time between October and December 2022. After three months of wrestling with haunting melodies from her piano and writing emotional, introspective and always brutally honest lyrics in her notebook, Kelly found himself. with material equivalent to an album. The material he never set out to create, but he knew he needed to see it in full and complete it quickly to capture the raw essence of his creation. He disembarked in the beautiful, secluded expanses of the Ocean Sound studio in Norway, tucked away on a small remote island in the North Sea. With only his studio engineer and backline technician with him, the stunning stillness of the environment and vast expanses of wilderness informed a six-day recording session that perfectly captured the emotional depths and soul-searching that emerged from those sessions. night piano
Throughout its eight songs, 'Inevitable Incredible' takes the listener on a passionate journey that provides an intimate insight into an artist who is not content to rest on his laurels.
Speaking about 'Inevitable Incredible' Jones says: 'The remote island studio environment allowed the songs to come to life and breathe, without distractions, it was such a new experience. There were no expectations about what the songs should sound like. Just let the emotion and vulnerability I put into writing those songs come to life. The weather could change in a minute and there was little to no contact with the outside world. All of this influenced how the songs came about. It was a truly cathartic experience. I feel like I left it all in these songs.'

For the past 25 years, Jones' band Stereophonics has been a mainstay on the radio and on stage, writing anthems that are etched into the heart of the public consciousness like few others. Following up on 2022's chart-topping album 'Oochya!' – Stereophonics' eighth UK number one album and sold-out stadium and arena tour that included two sold-out nights at Cardiff's 60,000-capacity Principality Stadium, Jones changed course again with the recent success in the UK from their American-influenced album Far From Saints. The project, composed by Jones with Dwight Baker and Patty Lynn of The Wind and The Wave, achieved critical and commercial success last year, debuting in the top 5 of the Official UK Albums Chart and topping the UK's specialist charts.
