Finally the day has come. Taylor Swift's next studio album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', will be released on April 19. And to celebrate, we're taking a look back at some of Taylor's incredible achievements on the Billboard charts. Here's what Billboard explains: Taylor Swift's record-breaking chart history.
Taylor began her chart journey in July 2006 when her debut single 'Tim McGraw' hit the country charts. It also made the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 40 the following year. She got things going with her second album, 'Fearless,' which includes hits like “Love Story,” which peaked at No. 4 on the Hot 100, and “You Belong With Me,” which peaked at No. 2 on 2009.
Since then, Taylor has been a force to be reckoned with on the Hot 100. She has racked up 11 No. 1 hits, tying her with Whitney Houston for fourth among women in the chart's history. The superstar has charted 232 songs on the Hot 100, more than any other female artist and second only to Drake overall. Taylor often competes against herself. She is the only woman to replace herself at No. 1 on the Hot 100 and has done so three times. In 2014, “Blank Space” unseated “Shake It Off” from the top spot. And then, in 2023, “Is it over yet? (Taylor's Version)” removed “Cruel Summer” before the songs switched places the following week.
And we can't forget the landmark album 'Midnights'.
