The Libertines have covered 'Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues.
Pete Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassall and Gary Powell shared a video on their official Instagram page of Carl playing the festive classic on the piano, with him and Doherty singing along.
The video's caption said it was a tribute to the late Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan, who died aged 65 on November 30 after suffering from a number of illnesses, including pneumonia.
It read: “RIP Shane this is for you matey x.”
The band also released a second video featuring the entire band performing the song while on stage at one of their intimate shows.
It was captioned: “Another one for Shane x.”
Pete, who was Shane's friend, revealed after the wild man's death that he once stole his crack pipe and told him his drugs were rubbish.
The recovering heroin addict told the story while recounting his first meeting with the singer.
Pete told BBC Sounds about his system to Shane from his ex-girlfriend, supermodel Kate Moss: “When I met him, he came in and took my chuck out, broke it, charged it and then came back and helped me put it on . back together with Sellotape.
“He smoked all my drugs and told me (what bad) quality they were after he smoked them all. This was the first time I had met him, so I thought it was really cool!”
Pitt emphasized that all of their meetings did not involve drugs, adding: “Most of the time he would be at (Kate's house) and he would say, 'Go get that guitar out and show us what you've got,' and we'd just play guitar and sing songs.” .
Pete also said of Shane's shock death: “I just liked the guy to be honest. I knew he was sick, but I kind of thought he was bulletproof… I don't want to sound like a rant, but I'll just say how I really feel.
“I loved him, he was solid, he had a manic laugh and he knew a lot about history – the American revolution, the history of Cuba… when he got up on stage and played with us, he was always up for it. Always up for a joke.
“Up in the dressing room we were taking out the guitar and for me that's the strongest connection I've made – with people like that, through music.
“I loved and respected him. For quite some time I sat at his feet in awe and in time gained his respect.
“In difficult moments of my life I could talk to him. When I was in prison he knew some people and helped me with some points and I felt close to him.”
Pete also opened up about Shane being one of the 'top three or four lyricists of the last 40 years' and said 'Fairytale' was 'one of the best songs ever written', adding: 'It's something he can be proud – you never know. I'm tired of hearing it.”
