Traveling to the biggest music festivals requires a few travel necessities and gear that should always be at the top of your packing list. You'll no doubt spend hours in the venue, which means you'll need some comfortable shoes if you're planning on making your way through your list of must-see musicians.
I recently traveled to Boom, Belgium to attend Tomorrowland 2024 and while there were plenty of memorable moments, I couldn't have made it through the trip without a pair of supportive sneakers. I have flat feet, which means support is essential if I want to avoid foot pain and back pain. Over the course of four days, I walked more than 45,000 steps wearing Kizik's Milan sneakers — and not only did they feel weightless, they were So comfortable I felt like I was walking on clouds with every time I wore it.
Keep reading to learn more about the comfortable Kizik sneakers that will quickly become your new go-to pair.
Kizik Milan Nylon Slip On Sneakers
All Kizik shoes have a well-thought-out construction that is hands-free and saves time. With magazine-worthy good looks, the Milan sneaker is available in nylon or leather materials depending on your preference. I chose the neutral black and white style to make it easier to pair with casual and sportswear. In addition to its fashion, the shoe is designed to be a slip-on, with an inflated heel that eliminates the need to wiggle your foot in the shoe, bend over to re-tie the laces, or squish your toes to maintain heel in position. This style may run a bit small and the brand recommends sizing up for a more comfortable fit.
Slipping on sneakers is So easy it's almost like magic. The heel is made from the brand's HandsFree Labs technology, which incorporates an internal cage that will push down as you slide in and then pop up as soon as your foot is fully inside. I don't have to bend over at all, which came in handy on days when I was rushing out of my hotel room to meet my team on time.
The laces on these Milan sneakers are reusable and can be adjusted to your needs, while the upper is made from a durable nylon material that is tear-resistant and wipe clean. Inside the sneaker you'll find a soft rabbit foam sole — AKA the secret to its lightweight comfort. In fact, these are some of the most comfortable shoes we've ever tried.
I could wear these sneakers for nine hours a day and my feet felt slightly tired at the end of the night when I left Tomorrowland. Wearing these shoes gave me enough energy to get me through several days at the festival, whereas when I wore my regular sneakers (which have my orthotics in them) to the Governor's Ball in New York, my feet were sore and tired by noon.
The insert on Kizik's sneakers is also washable, allowing you to reuse them as often as you like. The rubber sole was also tight enough to keep me stable as I waded through the classic festival mud and grime. I also couldn't get over how similar the Milan design was to the trendy Vejas sneakers, but I felt more compelled to show off a pair of Kiziks since they come with softer support.
After long walks and dancing in these shoes, these will forever be the first thing I pack in my luggage, especially during music festival season. When it comes to comfort and style, Kizik sneakers are second to none.
