On Sunday (February 11), Usher had the world in the palm of his shiny, gloved hands with a rockin' Super Bowl halftime show. And while everyone was enjoying his hits last night, sneakerheads were excited about the chrome Air Jordan 4s Usher rocked while cutting a rug.
Wearing an outfit designed by Off-White (RIP Virgil Abloh), many sneakerheads were quick to notice the chrome and blue Air Jordan 4s on the “Lovers and Friends” singer and wondered if these were exclusive 4s made especially for Usher's highly anticipated . Half time show. With Bruce Brown wearing a chrome version of the Air Jordan 11 that was made for him a few weeks ago, many speculated that Usher's Air Jordan 4s were made just for him as well.
It was, but not Jordan Brand.
As it turns out, the sneakers were beautifully crafted by respected sneaker remixer Shoe Surgeon, who is known for taking sneakers and reworking them into styles that heads want to actually release. Featuring chrome, blue and white color blocking with a large “U” on the heel, these Air Jordan 4s are one-of-a-kind that will never see the light of day outside of Usher's home.
Sorry sneakerheads, but these are not for general consumption.
