Bon Iver released their new SABLE, ER. With the release, new music videos for “Things Behind Things Behind Things” and “Awards Season” were shared. Both moody, black-and-white visuals were directed by Erin Springerwho also directed the visuals for “SPEYSID E.” Justin Vernon once again stars in the new clips. check them out below.
SABLE, is Bon Iver's first new record in more than five years—and their first EP since 2009. Vernon wrote the autobiographical trilogy at various points in his life: “Things Behind Things Behind Things” is due in 2020; while he was in a period of creative uncertainty. He wrote 'SPEYSIDE' the following year, in Key West, in a moment of clarity after extensive stress. and “Awards Season”, which features a sample of Phil Cook and Amelia Meath”Miles Away,” was designed during long walks around Minneapolis' Lake of the Isles in 2023.
Vernon Production SABLE, with Jim-E Stack. They recorded the EP at Vernon's April Base studio in Wisconsin. SABLE, features contributions from pedal player Greg Leisz, multi-instrumentalist Michael Lewis, trumpeter Trever Hagen, synthesizer Eli Teplin, arranger and string player Rob Moose, and more.
From the 2019 release i, iBon Iver released a handful of singles including “PDLIF”, “AUATC”, “Second Nature”, “So Unimportant”, featuring Ethan Gruska and, with the National, “Weird Goodbyes”. Vernon also featured on Taylor Swift's “Exile” and “Evermore” and Japanese House's “Dionne.” Last year, Bon Iver teamed up with Zach Bryan on “Boys of Faith.”
