The musician performed the 1994 song during her concert at New York's SummerStage
Snail Mail aka Lindsey Jordan is a huge fan of Oasis. The musician paid tribute to the recently reunited Manchester band during her concert at Central Park's SummerStage in New York this week, performing a cover of their 1994 single 'Supersonic'.
After performing the grungy song during the show, which also featured Tim Heidecker and Fenne Lily, Jordan shouted: “Welcome back, Oasis.”
Jordan has covered Oasis in the past, including renditions of 'Wonderwall' and 'Live Forever'. She shared an Instagram story of herself earlier this week hoping to buy tickets for Oasis' 2025 tour, which they announced with great fervor on Tuesday.
In 2021, Jordan he said Entertainment Weekly that he puts on Oasis to get up before a show. “I love Oasis,” he said. “Listening to them puts my head in the game. And I love 1975. I feel like you have to have a certain attitude when you go on stage—I have to put the face on right before—and 1975 puts me in that place. It's music with a lot of confidence, catchy and full of mood. I don't know what it is about Brits and rock music. They just make it a little cooler.”
Last month, Jordan unveiled her cover of the Smashing Pumpkins classic 'Tonight Tonight'. The track was originally recorded for Jane Schoenbrun's blockbuster film, I saw the glow of the TVin which Jordan made her acting debut.
The cover marked her first new release since last year's release Valentine (Demos) ER. This four-song set featured some early versions of songs from the acclaimed 2021 LP Valentineplus a new tune, “Easy Thing”.
Snail Mail kicked off a short tour this month starting August 26th at the Prescott Parks Art festival in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. It runs through September 8, concluding at the Fillmore in Philadelphia.
