Ye – the artist formerly known as Kanye West – seems to be calling it a career on the music front.
Rich The Kid shared an alleged text message from West on Tuesday (July 9) that shows Ye explaining how he's stepping away from pursuing music professionally.
“Retiring from professional music Not sure what else to do,” Ye wrote in the message while appearing to be in a state of uncertainty.
Rich The Kid responded by trying to convince him otherwise: “Retire? Why; How; ppl NEED you the music you & Ty & we've made the BIGGEST Stamp in culture to date 2024. Say Ye for mine & V2 and we're doing it all over again guys need you big bra fasho maybe some time to to relax, but the pension is not”.
The “New Freezer” rapper deleted the text message exchange containing Ye's alleged departure from his Instagram Story about half an hour after he originally posted it.
Fans were amazed at the idea that Kanye would have music. “BOOOOOOOOO NEVER Ngl I never thought I'd hear him use the word retirement in life.” one person replied to X.
Other shocked fan He wrote. “That's what happens when people don't respect your genius. If true, yes he should be listed with the all time greats. An artist first and foremost.”
However, some aren't taking West at his word and think this could be it a marketing ploy leading up to his next album or venture.
