For the past year and a half, Adele has been performing at her “Weekends with Adele” residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Now, the singer has indicated that she’s ready to get back out on the road again, and will tour whenever her next album arrives.
The comments came during a recent “Weekends with Adele” set, during which she told the audience that she “really, really, really” does like doing her residency, but will return to touring to “come to wherever it is you live.”
As for the timing, Adele said that the tour would follow the release of new music. The only problem? It may be a while until that arrives. “I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time,” she told the audience.
Adele closed her onstage remarks by saying she’ll miss her residency “so much” upon its completion this upcoming June. Then, she asked the audience if they were ready for “more songs,” which was met with affirmative applause. Watch a clip of the moment below.
The news of Adele’s return to touring may come as a surprise to some, considering her past comments about disliking tours. But after getting into the rhythm of the residency — and quite a bit of therapy — she revealed just over a year ago that she thinks she’ll “be a live artist for the rest of my life.”
“Weekends with Adele” will wrap with a final performance on June 15th. Check out the full list of upcoming dates, and grab tickets here.
Adele’s most-recent album was 30, which spurred her first live shows in five years when it arrived in 2021. In the past year, she’s stayed busy not performing for King Charles III, defending her fans from security, and getting sober.
🚨Adele has confirmed that she will do a worldwide tour for next album last night at #WeekendsWithAdele.
