This won't be Megan Thee Stallion's first time hosting. The Houston artist has also hosted Saturday Night Live and co-organized The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The news that Megan Thee Stallion would be hosting the VMAs came after this year's nominations were announced. The Hot Girls frontwoman earned five nominations, including Best Collaboration with GloRilla, who she was just on tour with, and Best Hip Hop Video.
She took home the award for best hip-hop video in 2020 thanks to the hit “Savage” from Suga's EP, which her label at the time, 1501 Certified Entertainment, refused to recognize as an album, allowing her to fulfill her contractual obligation.
Thee Stallion took home her first VMA of 2019 in the Best Power Anthem category for her Nicki Minaj-assisted single “Hot Girl Summer,” when all was well between the two Hip-Hop stars.
