There are more shake up's at YZY headquarters. Kanye West has reportedly fired a longtime shoe designer Steven Smith.
As was mentioned with Nice kicks The rapper has reportedly asked the veteran creative to leave his label DONDA. This week Fast magazine met with Smith and confirmed rumors of his departure in August. While Steve has historically supported West through all his ups and downs, it seems his patience with YE has run out. “He's lost his mind,” she said to one exclusive statement in the magazine. “The whole Yeezy is circling the pipeline and that's just part of it. He's surrounded himself with grade C toxic losers.”
While Smith didn't touch on any of Kanye's recent goings-on, including wanting to start his own adult content channel or possibly being addicted to nitrous oxide, he made it clear that he's excited for his next chapter. “I'm in a very happy place with all of this,” Smith reveals. “I will certainly be an invaluable asset to whoever I work with next. It is all his loss and the result of his folly.”
Steven Smith is a trailblazer in the sneaker industry for his work on several iconic releases including the Reebok Instapump Fury, New Balance 574 and Yeezy Boost 700. YE has yet to comment publicly on the matter. In May Milo Yiannopoulos resigned as Chief of Staff of the YZY.
