Daft Punk's LEGO lookalikes are set to make a cameo in Piece by piecethe upcoming Pharrell Williams biopic.
Told through the lens of LEGO animation, the biopic, Piece by piece chronicles the rise of Williams’ musical career and his path to becoming a cultural icon. Focus Features, the film’s distributor, has released its official poster and unveiled the first look at Daft Punk in LEGO form.
It's a perfect combination, blending the sleek futurism of the French electronic music pioneers with the nostalgic charm of childhood building blocks. As Williams' career takes shape brick by brick, the inclusion of his helmeted collaborators on “Get Lucky” promises to add an extra layer of whimsy to this already offbeat biopic.

Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are part of a star-studded cast of music icons, alongside Gwen Stefani, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Busta Rhymes. Whether or not Daft Punk performs in Piece by piece It remains to be seen, but it's a safe bet following comments made by the film's director, Morgan Neville.
““There are so many cool characters, from Snoop to Daft Punk, all these different people are amazing in Lego,” Neville said recently. Variety“But recreating recording studios, music equipment, turntables and all that stuff that had never been done before, people are going to… I want a set of all that! It was a big creative challenge.”
Outside of Hollywood, Daft Punk have been a popular choice for the humble LEGO creator. In 2020, an ambitious father-son duo developed an intricate recreation of the robots' iconic “Alive 2007” pyramid stage, and in 2022, an artist built realistic LEGO versions of Bangalter and Homen-Christo's iconic helmets. A year later, an award-winning creator used the multi-colored bricks to recreate a 3D cover of Daft Punk's latest album, Random Access Memories.
