It's been four years since Killer Mike and El-P released any new work under their Run The Jewels banner, and while Killer Mike has enjoyed an incredible run since then, he and El-P have linked up for once again in a new cut. in one of your favorite video game franchises.
Last Wednesday (August 28), Killer Mike premiered his latest Run The Jewels track, “Detonator” during his appearance on Activision's Call of Duty NEXT live stream. The song was created for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and of course the joint went hard. With an assist from Rock D The Legend on the hook, “Detonator” reminds us once again why Killer Mike and El-P make a formidable duo on a track as the two spit Hip-Hop where the bars are based on content and rhyme. the patterns are cleverly written.
While this will certainly lead to fans clamoring for a brand new Run The Jewels project, no one knows when or even if that will happen, but given the chemistry these two men have when in the studio, we know it's only a matter of time before we are blessed with some new work when they inevitably return to the kitchen.
