Militarie Gun is officially back with “Thought You Were Waving,” the first new music from the Los Angeles band since their excellent 2023 debut album. Life under armsstream it below.
“Thought You Were Waving” was created by the Consequence Rising artist to watch alongside Zachary Dawes (Lana Del Rey, Sharon van Etten). A wry song about misunderstandings, vocalist Ian Shelton sings lyrics like, “I thought you were waving/ Turns out you were drowning/ Bring me down, just save me next time.”

In the Neta Ben Ezra-directed music video, the members of Militarie Gun passively engage in all sorts of ridiculous situations, such as letting a thief steal all their belongings, ignoring a burning house, and disposing of dead bodies. Watch it below.
Earlier this year, Militarie Gun released their EP Life under the sunwho reimagined five songs from Life under armsMore recently, they created the song “Gun under the gun (MFG)” like the entrance music for Post Malone WWE 2K24 Video game character.
Militarie Gun have a few US shows planned later this month, followed by a European tour and September dates supporting Manchester Orchestra.
