Bloody Ruckus is a 31-year-old MC from Oneida, Wisconsin who began 2009 by releasing his debut EP Coming Out the Woods. This was followed by the full debut Nightmare from Rez: The Ragewhich was a popular work of morbid art locally. My Bloody Valentine's sophomore effort following his 2nd EP Dark N Cold saw him gain international attention, releasing at the same time he cut off a woman's finger and drank her blood at the 17th annual Gathering of the Juggalos in 2016, which was the last Gathering held by Majik Ninja Entertainment before Psychopathic Records just 6 months later. Scum signed Bloody Ruckus to Lyrikal Snuff Productionz as soon as he returns home and continues his LSP debut Funeral Macabre with his 4th disc.
“Vengeance” is that EVIL trap metal opener on the LP, letting you know it's going to leave you in a body bag with the rest of your crew, while “Night Terrors” with Rece's Aura takes the clouded trap route organically talking about dragging his chains through the frost. “Cowbell Demon” cranks up the bass to 11, daring anyone to step inside his slaughterhouse at their own risk, and “I'm Gonna Nut in Your Urn” demonically screams pussy muhfuckas.
DOWN6 join Bloody Ruckus for “This World Hates Me” so they can both get into their emo rap/trap metal bag for almost 3.5 minutes, just before a personal highlight for me “Stop Glorifying Rats” piss off people who praise snitches, which I totally agree with. “Bright Lights” rudimentarily encourages you to let Lucy open everyone's third eye whether you're doing DMT or shrooms, but then C4$PA's “666 Up in da Sky” perfectly blends g-funk and horrorcore regardless of the average appearance of visitors.
“Misanthropic” has that EDM blast to the beat detailing his loathing of humanity, hence the title leading into “Welcome 2 Wicked Wisco” which mixes elements of both g-funk and trap together representing the Oneida and the underground evil scene as a whole. “Flatline” sternly warns everyone that anyone who takes him for a joke will be left with hollow tips, while “Modern Atrocities” features Warlord Colossus demonically speaking that his brain isn't the same.
As for “Say No More,” we have Bloody Ruckus eerily giving us a taste of the gun-toting gangsta mentality, while “Lord of Grudge” unsettlingly talks about running out of medicine seeing the shadows creep up again. “Omega” is that horror/electronic dance hybrid that leaves entire clips in the mouths of anyone who runs their mouths talking bad about it, while “Every Dog Has His Day” uncannily references the title expression.
“Wendigo” nears the end of Resurrection of the Broken Reflection, ascending to rap rock once again referencing the evil spirit derived from Algonquian folklore while “Bring 'Em to the Darkside” featuring Donnie Menace, DOWN6, Scum , Smallz 1 & Saw da Ghozt comes through with a 6 minute cut. “Reflejo Roto” wryly talks about being a broken reflection of a man, and “Eternity” ends by hellishly painting himself as a demon on a throne.
Crazy to think that this same guy who cut off this woman's finger and drank her blood at the Gathering '17 because I vividly remember when the news broke and never would have thought he would sign to LSP and go home with his best album until now. The production is darker and more sophisticated than Bloody Ruckus' previous material, breaking through all barriers and letting new listeners know who he is.
