McCreery was playing “It Matters to Her” when he abruptly stopped his broadcast after witnessing a spectator hit a woman in the crowd. McCreery then pointed to the alleged assailant in the audience, saying, “Hey, hey, hey, over here. That's a lady you just hit, sir.'
The music remained paused as McCreery pointed out the offending audience member to security personnel. McCreery said, “Absolutely not, who just hit the lady? Police, security, are they okay?' He then addressed the person who hit the woman, saying, “Get out of here…On God's green earth…at a Scotty McCreary show? what are you doing Let the police know who hit the lady because this is absolutely unacceptable.”
McCreery waited until the person was escorted by the crowd before the singer-songwriter continued with his show.
Other musical performers on the Colorado State Fair lineup include Trace Adkins, Ludacris, Banda El Recodo, The Commodores and The Spinners, as well as the Goo Goo Dolls. The Colorado State Fair runs through September 2nd.
Earlier this year, North Carolina-born McCreery released his fifth studio album, Rise and fall. A new song from the album, “Fall of Summer,” which McCreery co-wrote with Brent Anderson, Derek George, Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell, was recently released.
