Wax Lyrical is a new series from The Vinyl Factory where vinyl selectors, artists and enthusiasts discuss their love of collecting vinyl.
For contemporary dance music fans, DJ, producer and singer Eliza Rose needs no introduction. Spending Saturdays working behind the counter at Flashback Records from the tender age of 15, Eliza Rose developed a love for UK Garage, early ’00s R&B and soul and jazz vocalists.
Building a sound around her distinctly crate-digging influenced tastes, Eliza Rose has moved from keen vinyl collector and DJ to international icon as her Interplanetary Criminal collaboration “B.O.T.A (Baddest Of Them All) took the UK chart no.1 spot–making her the first female DJ to achieve this in 20 years.
Since then, Rose’s profile has only grown through global tours, sets at every major festival imaginable and collaborations with the likes of Calvin Harris and The Martinez Brothers.
A longstanding VF Live resident, Rose returns to VF for the first episode of Wax Lyrical to discuss her favourite records, working in a record store at 15 years old and the influence of Flashback Records on her career. Watch it here.
