André 3000 is hits the road this fall for his wacky New Blue Sun album once again. On Tuesday, the musician announced that he will tour his latest flute work this fall, but this time it will stop in more cities and larger venues across the United States.
André will kick off his tour in New Orleans on September 19, before making stops in cities including San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle and Salt Lake City. He will play major theaters including LA's Greek Theater and Portland's Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
Joining him on the road once again will be DJ and producer Carlos Niño, along with musicians Nate Mercereau and Surya Botofasina with Deantoni Parks. tickets for the show series go on sale Friday, June 28 at 10am local time.
ONE Rolling rock A review of his New York show last year praised the musician for “constructing an interactive, free-flowing, concert experience,” while a review of his flute record described the work as “an 87-minute world of sound you'll love to get lost in.” Since the release New Blue SunAndré's joined Kamasi Washington on “Dream State.”
Before hitting the road, André will make stops at various music festivals, including Toronto Jazz Fest and Montréal Jazz Fest in Canada, before heading to Europe for Paris' La Gaité Lyrique and the Netherlands' North Sea Jazz festival in July.
