Los Angeles Dodgers fans lined up for hours Wednesday as the Major League Baseball team unveiled its official Sohei Ohtani Bobblehead Night. Forty thousand lucky fans took home a limited edition bobblehead featuring the Dodgers MVP posing next to his dog, Decoy.
According to reports, Ohtani bobbleheads it went fastand some people had even posted their bogeymen on eBay even before the game was over. As of this writing, there were over 1,500 search results for “Shohei Ohtani Bobblehead” on eBay, with prices starting at $150.
So why the demand? Ohtani, of course, is one of the most popular athletes not only in baseball, but in all of sports. And Wednesday's giveaway didn't just feature the pitcher/designated hitter in bobblehead form — it also featured him holding his dog Decoy. The Dodgers were also giving away a limited edition all gold versions of Ohtani's figurine at Wednesday night's game.
